here is a look at what my income looks like, which I would say is as passive as it gets..

Income 1 My own products and affiliate income averages about $1,000-$1,500 a day profit consistently.
About 95% passive

Once it's created I have to make sure everything is running smoothly, I have to check on it. Make sure my help team is paid and happy and all my clients are happy. There a re few hours a week where I have to really focus on this business.

My affiliates, JV partners and help team do most of the work here

Income 2

This all comes from investing 90-95% passive

I take a good majority of my earning and invest them since I don't have debt and have very small bills. Here I have to look into my account do some studying and decide what I want to invest in. what I should buy sell ETC... Where I should put what money and if I should transfer any around

My income is now earning me a good fortune (put your money to work), but I still have to check on it. and see where goes what

I'm sure I could bring both of these to 99% automation if I brought in someone to manage everything, but there are just somethings I prefer to do myself..

So with these two incomes I'm pretty set and can get away with less than 15 hours a week. So thats ok with me, pretty damn automated. 

But I don't think there is anything that can make you 100% automated, I could be wrong though.. I'm sure no matter what it is you have to be doing something consistently to keep it growing even if that is just a phone call to the person managing it for you.

whoever posted this makes a great point. besides the fact that they don't mention the importance of following up with your leads/referrals [i suppose its implied], its really important to be professional. in all your efforts to communicate, brand yourself. become known and set yourself as the authority to your team/subscribers/leads/followers, etc. marketing is all about numbers and relationships. 

get more numbers and develop more relationships and it will pay off. even if you are the only one making the effort in the relationship, i.e. email marketing, you would be surprised how many people are reading what you have to say, so make an awesome impression, be real and be professional.

nicholasb- Yes it is something that can be done, but not in the way people think

To me passive income is taking the time to create a product and write the copy. Then putting a JV Broker in charge of setting up my JV deals for automated traffic and sales. Then paying my wonderful support team to handle support.

So once the work is done and the right people are in place the income is generated without much else effort on my part.

I do have to check in on things and if a problem arises I have to tell people how to handle it, but I would say my business is 95% passive.

I do see your point, though, Luke. (And it's an excellent post; very thought-provoking.) In my opinion, a lot of the so-called passive income models are just hyperbole. I mean, even if you have to outsource a method, you still have to oversee the employee, monitor them, pay them, reply to emails.

Only way I've ever attained passive income models has been twice by luck, once by thinking out of the box, and once by reworking a method given to me.
